I've Moved!

If I have any followers out there, PLEASE keep following me at my blog's new location:

It's prettier, but just as fun and useful as it's ever been. My old posts and comments are all there, too, so you won't be missing ANYTHING.

     Thank you!!

PANY Flower Shop 6x6 Layout

This picture is from the same day that my friend and I visited the Ace Hotel. It was the "true" reason for the Manhattan day: getting fake flowers.
I'm not a flower person. Don't like 'em, never have. But she insisted I get a picture in front of all the flowers, in my terribly unflattering pink sweater. So, here I am, lol.
This layout is a pretty direct scraplift from here:
I jsut thought it was so beautiful. I simplified it a little to work with a smaller page (and less butterflies...), but I just loved the hearts on twine, and the little bow.

Cork Embellishments!

I recently came into some cork paper. It's just like a cork board, but a bit thinner. Unfortunately, I actually don't love the look of cork.
So, as I often do, I decided to play around with it. I used different inks, stamps, embossing powders, and some acrylic paint.
My "playing" ended up cute enough that I thought someone out there might want the results:

I made quite a few different styles and colors, and they can be seen here in my store.

Big (for me) Announcement

You might have noticed a new banner and a new link on the left-hand side of my blog. Maybe you didn't. But anyway.

That's right. I've launched my own creative consulting business.

I am, at my core, not a risk-taker. Not at all. I like to have a plan B.....and C, D, E and F, just in case. So to kind of go out on a limb, make a couple investments, and tell myself it will "all work out" is truly difficult. What if the market just doesn't exist? What if I'm not good enough? Or...what if I end up with so many (or such demanding) clients that I am overwhelmed?

That's my brain. But my heart says, "Oh geez. Just do it."
     So I did/am.

Ace Hotel Photo Booth 6x6 Layout

I've been following Kelly Purkey's blog for almost two years now, and she just cannot say enough about the Ace Hotel and its photo booth. So, when I was in the area looking at flowers anyway, I decided to pop in.

Best part: We're taking photos in the booth (which gives you NO WARNING. You swipe your card, and BAM! photo BAM! photo), and my friend says "You know, this place would be so much more enjoyable if it didn't smell so strongly of eggs." We chalk it up to the fact that everyone was eating brunch.
We wait five minutes for our pictures to print, and are admiring them. And then I give the strip a sniff, and HOLY CRAP does it smell like eggs. It must be something about the ink used by older photo booths, but good lord. Suffice it to say, the whole place smells like eggs and it isn't because they serve brunch.
